New Tribal Health Program for Inland Empire

US Rep. Pete Aguilar recently shared that the non-profit Riverside-San Bernardino County Indian Health, Inc. (RSBCIHI) will receive $720,000 from the Department of Justice to establish a services program for victims of crime.

“Too often, our tribal communities aren’t granted the resources they need to access high-quality medical care, including mental health care. The establishment of a victims’ services program through RSBCIHI will allow more Inland Empire residents to access the care they need in the wake of traumatic events,” said Aguilar.

This news is a reminder of the intersection of crime and healthcare, and that many communities don’t have equal access to healthcare services. This funding will be distributed over three years. Hopefully, there will opportunities to increase this program in the future.
